It’s a big year of planning for me because I’m getting married this year!!! I’m really excited and will definitely be sharing cake tasting trips on my blog.

I had a traditional vietnamese engagement ceremony called “Dam Hoi” and added my crafty touch to it and of course a BIG desserts table. Check out all my details of my engagement :)

Big thanks to Sargeant photography for the awesome pictures, Joe and Drew from Garden Row Media for the memorable video!!

The table were decorated with white table covers with a burlap runner and rustic floral centerpiece. Including wrapped utensils at each seat.

I made some Yarn Covered Monogram Letter for some extra decor around the house.

And now more details on my desserts table. I started out making many paper pom poms and bought Accordion Lanterns for my paper chandelier ahead of time.

Our favorite cake is carrot cake. So I made a rustic carrot cake as my main centerpiece underneath the paper chandelier with some party favors boxes filled with chocolates.

I wanted to make logo sugar cookies that I posted before from sweetopia’s blog. Her directions are awesome!

I made simple cake pops in orange and blue for my desserts table.

Filled the table with french macarons from Layer Cake Bakery (I love there french macarons), powdered donuts, and white chocolate covered pretzels. And DIY candy favor jar. I saved baby jars and filled them with white mints. I covered the lid with burlap and used some string to hold it together. Very simple to do!

Plus some candy! Some rock candy and salt water taffy. I love the look of rock candy on a desserts table.

My BIG desserts table….

Thanks to my family and friends making a memorable engagement!

Pirate Theme Dessert Table

For Cash’s 1st Birthday, Jackie and Ant wanted to do a pirate theme party.

Jackie, Joanne, Judy and I worked on the desserts table for a few days prior to the big event. There was plenty of desserts and food everywhere. Jackie and Ant had a custom treasure chest pinata, a pirate ship jumper in the backyard, and treasure chest favor boxes with many goodies for all the kids that came.

We decided to go with black, red and white for the table…Check out the yummy goodies for the dessert table!

It’s Pumpkin Carving Time!

Pumpkins are an awesome asset for your desserts table and definitely gives the halloween spirit!

You can make use of pumpkins for 2 activities :) A fun activity to do with the family and you then use it for your halloween desserts table for decor.

My brother, sisters and I made carved some pumpkins over the years and became a yearly activity we do. Low key and fun!

Some tips I recommend is buy a kit for each person so you don’t need to wait for one another for equipment. We were constantly borrowing tools or waiting for each other to finish. Another key is thin out the pumpkin as much as you can so when you start carving your design, it’s easier to cut. The thicker the tougher and more work.

Special Effects for your Halloween Dessert Tables

I’ve posted a few Halloween dessert table ideas, but wouldn’t it be awesome to add some special effects to the table. Dry Ice is a big key to help add special effects to your dessert table.  You can find dry ice at most local grocery store.

All you need is some dry ice and any type of juice/punch you would like to drink at your party. I bought some fruit punch and poured it in a punch bowl. Then added some chunks of dry ice in the bowl. Once you get those dry ice cubes  in the bowl of fruit punch, you will get the cloud effect!

I found some really cool ideas you can on you tube to get some ideas for your table. Steve Spangler’s shows you some how to videos to get more effects dry ice ideas.

He also has some tips of how to make your Halloween a little more spooky. This is an awesome effect to add to your dessert table too!!!!

And then some Oozing Pumpkins for your Halloween dessert table.

Lastly, this is my favorite….he shows you how to make dry ice bubbles!!! How great is this! The bubbles will just evaporate into a cloudy effect if you pop it!

Paint-Your-Own Dessert Bar

The Sweetest Occasion posted this awesome idea for a dessert bar from Elizabeth Anne Designs. Paint-Your-Own Dessert Bar!!!

You get to paint your own mini cake! How awesome is that! I LOVE this idea!

On the dessert bar, a frame reads, “You are the artist. Choose your cake.  Choose your icing. Create your design.”
